Have recently received a response to my email with apologies for the delay, it would appear that they are a small operation, however I had ordered plugs from Dobies     before their response, maybe will give them a try next year.

Has anyone had dealings with Babyplants?  I liked the sound of them on their website and the Garden Centre looked impressive on Google maps, but they haven't answered a query that I emailed to them and I don't want to go back down the Canny Gardener road again.

My father bought a Super Star rose in the early 60's from John Mattock, it has been moved twice, in mid August each time and survived each time, it's getting a bit weak now , but still managed one fragrant bloom last year.

 Confused or Blushing?

Both blooms were on the same stem.

I have in the past bought "in the green" but the following year have had roughly a 40% survival rate.

This year I bought dry bulbs from JPD and planted them in pots in a cold frame, currently from 100 bulbs have 64 plants 15 of which are in flower, others are still just showing through the soil.

Last season I tried Westlands Jacks Magic, not the cheapest, but by far the best results, for value for money B & Q's verve in the large bale is good value and not full of rotting wood etc., Both are peat based...... "so what!!"

I ordered Begonias in January 2013, they arrived on time and in good condition, Impatiens for a neighbour were battered only 50% survived,  Chrysanthemums were very late and small, the labelling was totally wrong, so the resulting display was a joke.

In November I ordered a 20kg sack of peanuts at a bargain price, upon checking progress of the order I found that it had been "completely cancelled" however my credit card had been debited with the full amount, an email to Customer Services  did receive a response explaining that the "Black Sunflower Seeds" had been withdrawn from the catalogue and that my payment would be refunded. One month later no refund, another email was sent... no response ..... another email sent ..... still no response.

Hopefully my card company can sort them out.

Beware of "The Canny Gardener" stick with JPD at least they are honest.
