Geoff, it's a lovely thing to do but tinged with sadness, I'll be thinking about you.
Robbie Savage reckons that you team will go down this season, but what does he know?!

Runner beans.

My dad used to grow great runner beans, rows not containers and he always made a trench in winter and threw in all the vegetable peelings. Then he put the soil on top and planted. I wonder if it would work with containers.

What's the weather like in your area?

4 years sadly, not all of mum, just a small tin to take to her brother's war grave in Kleve, we took her for her first visit and then went to Keukenhof, so will do the same again. Thought about going to Floriade this year, but it all depends where the Easter holidays fall. She's also under the roses in my sisters garden in Canada! She loved it over there. Hope that doesn't sound crazy, she did love to travel!

Still raining here, no gardening today.

Afternoon all, apologies for my late arrival, after 7 days in work I need a lie in!

While the south is sweltering, it's raining in our bit of the Pennines and I can't get up the garden. Brought lots of plants back from daughter in law in Southport and wanted to get out to plant them. Having a lazy day now.

Kate - thank goodness OH OK, must be upsetting though.
Becks and Jess, well done on carrots
Geoff - I've got an ashes run to make too, through Holland to Kleve, just over border into Germany.

Ahoy me hearties (ref boat mention), is it a grapefruit sloop Geoff?
Long boring day for me, clearing open day tomorrow morning, then Southport (not the flower show)
Good news about interview Miss B, we are all rooting for you ......
Nothing for me thanks Geoff unless you see something I might like.
Now watching The boy in striped pyjamas, will try to manage a few pages of Elizabeth when I go to bed, but usually fall asleep after a page and wake up when it falls on the floor

All gone quiet for a while, does that mean we've all been watching The Best of Men?

Yes it is, Geoff, lovely scenery and some nice touches of humour.
