Astilbies look good at this time of the year and sedum spectabile coming soon. I would visit some NGS gardens for ideas of which plants look good together.

Lovely day in East Lancs, first day of my holidays, went to NT Dunham Massey, hydrangeas looking lovely in the sun. 26C according to car thermometer.

No problems in Lancashire, we're at about 1000ft, usually get snow. I have to keep an eye out for slugs though, they eat right through the stems.

Help! Have I got Japenese Knotweed growing in my garden?

Careful, it will take over. Alan Titchmarsh says it is easy to pull up, but need to do it before it sets seeds, or it will be difficult to get rid of.

Geoff, I am constantly impressed by your vast knowledge of gardening and of this forum. You are an inspiration. Thank you, now I have some gardening time I can get brewing.
