Aubergines in a greenhouse

Posted: 11/07/2015 at 22:58

Thank you Cares for the link. I have been misting the aubergine plants but not as regularly as I think I should have. A lot of the flowers have fallen off and no fruit produced. Will keep them requally misted from now on and will report back. Many thanks.

Aubergines in a greenhouse

I've recently moved to Devon and am lucky enough to have a greenhouse for the first time in my life. thought I'd have a go at growing aubergines. They are doing well with lots of flowers on them. My question is should I restrict the number of flowers on each plant. At the moment I can only see one tiny aubergine. Any advice would be appreciated. I am keeping them well watered and give them a dose of tomato feed each week. Oh and they are in 10" pots.

Agapanthus - can you propagate from seed?

I have just cut the seed heads off my agapanthus. Don't know the name of it but it has white flowers. I just wondered if it was worth potting up some of the seeds and if so what is the timescale to flowing from potential new plants.

Any new gardening programme on TV has to be good news. About time too. I've never seen the Beechgrove Garden programme but am looking forward to it. Thanks "The Cycling Gardner" for bringing this to our attention.

The best multi purpose compost this year

Lyon Greene - many thanks for this info. I will certainly look out for Miracle-Gro Expand n' Gro and Vital Earth Multipurpose compost as I try not to use peat if I can. I don't subscribe to Which magazine but I am sure someone on this wonderfil forum will be able to give us more details. Roll on spring.

Happy New Year to everyone of the GW forum. So the shortest day has passed, New Year's Eve also, must mean spring is on its way. Let's hope we have good growing weather, lots of sunshine and good cheer..

Driven from Wiltshire to Essex this morning. Rain all the way and lots of standing water. Did briefly see a yellowish ball in the sky about half an hour again but it has disappeared again, BUT its not raining at the moment.
