Greenhouse & coldframe set up

Posted: 05/09/2013 at 23:18

Dear all,

I've planned to get a new greenshouse, which is the PE cover with DIY staging that sold in Wilko, also a 3ftx3ft coldframe to overwinter my newly potted plants. just a question before I can set both up--should it be gravel first then poly cover as the base to cut off weeds, or the other way round? I'm just wonder if i put poly cloth as base will the enclosed enviroment gets too condensed with trap water, also there might be slugs & snails's best hibernate places??

Thank you for all advise

 Dear all,

This's my 3years old grape vine, cant remember the name now brought it from The Range 3yrs ago. It seems doing very well this year producing loads of fruit, still small thou.

Just wondering if this's gonna grow to edible size like those in supermarket?

As you can see, it also have few rotten one between every each one of the prunnet, not sure what's it all along these years, so i never harvested anything yet. Please can anyone help & teach me a little bit more from this process now on?

Thank you very much!!!

Dear all,

Please identify this insect for me, found it stuck between holes of the netting, and left him a trail prob been overnight. Rescue it & keep it under cover with a simple manmade insect dungeon, hope it'll survive. Also if you can see there's some very very tiny bugs underneath, not sure if it's being attacked by some other insects or its baby(ies). Anyway after an hour it's gone!!!!! nowhere to be found in the propogator prob it's strong enough to sneak thru some broken edges of the plastic.

Hope i just get to know it's name & It's happy to go back where it should be.

Hi waterbutts & nutcutlet,

Thank you for your advise, i did finally try on the mower today, its amazing!!! well not a golf course standard yet, but at least all weeds are down, bare patch are obvious & ready to spread new proper grass seed & hopes it will build up next year spring green with grass, not weeds.

Thank you again for all help & view

I mowed the very first time yesterday with the simple strimmer on my messy lawn with almost knee high grass & weeds. At least it's a bit tidy now with all weeds down!!!!!

Would like to seek advice from you all here who mown all the time:- My husband suggested that our garden's not suitable to mown with hover mower, so he was using the strimmer for the past 3years and do it prob once a mth only which makes him exhausted at the end of the day when the grass goes mad on hot & rainy summer days.

I'm gonna push out the very un-used mower tomorow and give it a try. It's called Xceed Hover mower, which is from Asda i think, plastic blades, only 2 left. Has anyone has any idea how it works prob? or just push and go as others?

We have 2 level of lawn, both never been treated & taking care of properly since we rented it 3years ago. And it's sloppy and long. Stoney. Please if any advice for a starter like me will be greatfull. Especially someone who has the same mower as mine, coz I cant find a lot of information about it except for replacement blades.

Thank you for all helpssss.
