LAWN DAMAGE

Christopher2 - many thanks. The lawn was well watered after treatment and we had a day of rain; dilution was as per pack directions. I'll rake the lawn and re-treat.

I posted recently about bird damage to my lawn and chafer grub was/is the culprit. I treated the lawn with the recommended lawn grub killer and now two weeks on the birds are still active and the grubs still alive; am I being impatient in expecting the treatment to work in two weeks? I shall give the lawn another treatment - my question is about the dozens of small holes in the lawn; in your experience will the lawn recover by itself when the problem is sorted.,,,,,although I understand the grubs eat the roots so I guess some reseeding will be necessary - your advice on how best to proceed would be appreciated. I have little or no knowledge of lawn care save mowing, although I have scarified the lawn in an attempt to make things a little better (or worse maybe).

Update - have dug some turf from the lawn and.... chafer grub!

Christopher2 & sotongeoff - Thank you both again - I notice this morning there is another post on this subject. Off now to the garden centre to get lawn grub killer.

Appreciate the help and advice on uploading pics via alternative method; still no luck. My computer skills are about as good as my gardening, not sure what I'd do without advice from this forum....

Sotongeoff -still unable to load pic.

Christopher2 - there are straw patches over the lawn so could the birds be responsible (there are plenty of magpies and crows here) although the extent of the damage indicates there must be hundreds of 'em! Tufts of grass, some with soil attached have been lifted and in some places holes have been made - the lawn looks pockmarked....should I treat the lawn in some way or just rake up the mess?

Help please - my lawn is being attacked. Is this bird damage or should I be looking at some kind of treatment for the lawn, This has happened over the past two days; the lawn is quite dry and so there is plenty of thatch for the birds to grab hold of, if bird damage is what it is, if so why just my lawn? Hope the photo is ok!
