Dividing Geranium Rozanne now

Thank you Verdun, I have cut it back a little as you suggested but may have the urge to dig a chunk out, a couple of glasses of vino and I start to be ruthless in the garden

I have a large plant that will flower in a couple of weeks, we are a couple of weeks behind the UK here.

It is too large for its spot and I am wondering if I can take a spade and divide/slice out the rear 1/4 to re-plant (without digging up the whole plant).  I won't mind if I lose the part I take out but would be really upset to lose the front part too.

Will I get away with it?

Two plant IDs please

Hmm, that's interesting, I threw around a packet of campanula seeds a few years back, perhaps it's decided to germinate.  My slap dash approach to gardening is buy a packet of seeds you like and scatter them around, if they grow they grow....

I definitely haven't sown seed for either of those so they must have self seeded.  The second one has really nice leaves but I am less excited by michaelmas daisy.

Dear forum people, have I been lovingly tending to two weeds or will they turn out to be something interesting I will want to keep?

Hoping this isn't a weed . . . . .

I'm not convinced it is ragwort but if it is I was told to use gloves when pulling it.  If you pull too much by hand, supposedly toxins can get in to your blood stream that can cause liver problems in humans.  Not sure how true that is but better be safe than sorry.

A present for the birds

Mine have a selection....... Border Terrier fluff, horse tail hair and shed body hair and some stuffing out of an old pillow!

I have seen the crows in the fields busily collecting sheep wool lying on the ground.

What a beautiful nest, 10 out of 10 to the parents for their design skills.

I have gone and had a prod around in the soil.  Some have just started to germinate now nearly a week later. I think I can see a little fuzzy white mould so I guess there must be some damping off going on.  I was reckless.... I confess...... I used a scoop that I didn't wash properly from last season so I think I might have cross infected the soil somehow.
