It's finally nearly here, the weekend I've been waiting for for ages. It's the Newark Garden Show at the showground and I've been saving my pennies. The forecast is rubbish but I'll be there with my wellies and waterproofs treating myself to whatever takes my fancy until my pocket money runs out. And they have a dog show on at the same place and time so my two favourite things in one place. Life is good!!! Happy weekend everyone!

Hi Busy - we have a little girl German Shorthaired Pointer "on order" as it were.  She was born last week, so mid June is home coming time. There is a big gap in our home at the moment, I didn't really think about how much the dog was by my side at all times until she wasn't there anymore.  I had her for  nearly 14 years from a pup and a friend and companion never to be forgotten or replaced.  But a new puppy will bring a new and different dynamic into the house and garden and I cant wait!  As for the cat, she'll have it trained in no time!  She had a habit of getting the dog from her bed by walking up and down in front of her with her tail held high until the dog couldn't resist any longer and they both trotted off into the garden together to get up to no good. .

Rosie - he looks lovely, a right bundle of fluff, fun and happiness! I bet he's quite good at digging already

Busy Bee - yep, a new puppy is on the cards mid June.  I just have to get a chunk of time away with work out of the way first and then it'll be a puppytastic summer. I may be needing Rosie's help with the school of gardening.

What a lovely story Busy Bee2, I like the idea of a tame pheasant.

Here's my little terror...since we lost our dog at Christmas she's been my shadow in the garden.  Her and the dog took it in turns to follow each other around and now she's a bit lost without her.  Everytime I go into the garden she follows me out like a shot..and pounces on me at every opportunity.  It took me ages to realise last year why my strawberries weren't growing last year til I caught her having a snooze.

Oh no, lily beetles are back!

My 6 year old niece came to stay over the Easter weekend.  I offered her 50p for every lily beetle she found.  She earned £7.50 over the weekend and 15 bugs were well and truly squished...she was not squeamish at all.  If it hadn't been for the fact I saw the evidence of each squashed bug I may have thought she was recycling them!

It would appear, in her world at least, that lily bug hunting was more fun than Easter Egg hunting and it was certainly more profitable!

Hi - I think I should know this but I don't so any help gratefully accepted.  It's about 3-4 ft tall in the summer and has white flowers...

Thanks in advance!
