Tiny white insects in greenhouse

French marigolds planted in the greenhouse worked for me Lavender Lady. I think to be effective they have to be planted in the soil that the plants are growing in.

Unusual Foxglove?

I agree with Fleursa.

I googled it and apparently it rarely comes true from seed but can be reproduced from cuttings. I don't think that would work with foxgloves.

Lovely unusual thing.

Oh, sorry don't know what I did there!

Hi OL,

I'm further south than you but I've had my cosmos outside for a few days now hardening off so hopefully they'll be okay. Heavy rain now so might have to wait 'til tomorrow before they get planted out.

Lovely photo of the cranes BL. It was the noise that alerted me to them as I'd never heard anything like it before.

Good morning everyone,

I'm hoping to plant out some cosmos before the forcast rain but sky looking very dark.

Yesterday evening I heard some strange cries and thought it was a bird in distress but when I looked out two huge birds had just passed overhead and I'm sure they were common cranes. I googled their cries and that's what they sound like. I reported the sighting to the Cornwall birding site as I'd be interested to know if anyone else had seen them.

Good afternoon all,

Rain has just started here in Cornwall so chance to sit down. got the grass cut in time.

I've hatched a few chickens in an incubator. It's really exciting listerning to the cheeps before they hatch. The only trouble is 50% are going to be cockerels and they fight each other so unfortunately you have to get rid of them and no-one wants cockerels.

egg shell found in the garden

Hopefully it's not a magpie. I believe that when the chicks hatch the parents carry the eggshells away fro the nest.

I better go and cheque on Robbie, Dove, but he's a bit loopy already. I once caught him standing  in a trailer so he could reach the leaves on an ash tree.

The first bud on the waterlily. I hope Robbie doesn't get a taste for them.
