Oh Marion I hope your lovely garden is accepted. I'd love to see it on the telly. You're an inspiration to us all.

Fooled me too. I'm disappointed it wasn't for real.

Happy Mother's day all,

Son, who lives next door, has invited me for breakfast and then going to daughter's for dinner tonight so being spoilt.

Still in bed so better get up and walk the dog and feed the shetlands. Takes the animals a while to get used to the clocks changing.

Have a lovely day all.

I have a birthday this year so what are ŷou going to get me?

I've thought long and hard about Verdun's present and I think I've come up with the perfect presents. I know he dosen't really like adders (unlike me) so I thought a forked stick or even some soil from Ireland. I read that there or no snakes in Ireland as Saint Patrick drove them out. An immigrant to Australia was so worried about the snakes that he imported a load of Irish soil to surround his house and apparently  was never bothered by snakes again.

Dose anyone know where I can buy Irish soil?

Orchid lady asked about dogs  understanding a foreign language! I read once that when they record bird's distress calls and then play them to frighten birds away from aircraft runways they have to catch local birds to record their alarm calls as apparently birds have local accents too.

I have a lovely pink paeony that had a wonderful scent but the last few years the buds only reach the size of peas then turn black. I have top dressed it over the years so is it worth digging it up now and replanting it?

I read that holly was planted in hedgerows as witches flew along hedges and the holly trees stopped them. When we bought our house 25 years ago the previous owners said that holly grows along ley lines so our house was in a happy place. Might have been a selling point but I've always been happy here and never seen a witch either.

Good luck with your GH Tracey. Is the spinning with wool and a spinning wheel or some new dance craze?

That could be right Dove. Not heard where Lydia is lately. Don't want to scare the tourists off.
