Named Plants

Posted: 22/03/2013 at 07:44

I grew foxglove 'Pam's Choice' last year. White with a purple throat. I scattered some of the seeds around from last year's plants so I hope they come true but lots of wild foxgloves around.

WEATHER this week

morning all,

We had our summer this time last year. It has rained heavily for more than 24 hours and another day of rain to come here in Cornwall. Feel so sorry for those who's properties are flooded once again. One house in Looe has been badly damaged by a landslide.

Keep warm and dry everyone.

Good Morning ..... :D

Good morning everyone,

Horrible day here but in some ways it's good to have a day off from the garden. I would feel obliged to go out if it was fine  but my back will appreciate a rest.

Joined the local garden group last month and last night's talk was about the restoration of Heligan so really interesting. It's my favourite garden in Cornwall.

MORNING FORKERS

Hope you are right Verdun. I think we had our Summer about this time last year then it all went downhill so maybe after such a long winter we will have a decent Summer.

Morning all,

Hope everyone kisses and makes up. I agree that the weather may be to blame for a bit of grumpiness.

I'm a Tesco Delivery virgin and awaiting my first order between 11am and 1.00pm.

I usually go shopping once a week with my daughter but her car is poorly so thought I'd give the delivery a go. Was so easy even for a dummy like me so I might keep to this way of shopping in future.

There's two greater spotted woodpeckers getting very friendly in the pine trees so they must think it's Spring.

POSITIVE and NEGATIVE

I ordered plug plants (pelargoniums and trailing begonias) from Jersey Plants last year. They were very small and didn't expect them to flower to flower early but they put up a good show and I've got lots of big plants and begonia corns to grow this year. Very reasonable price and free postage.

Good morning everyone,

Really nice day here to will get outside soon and carry on filling my raised bed that I made with old railway sleepers. Put six barrow loads of horsr and chicken poo in yesterday but need lots more yet.

Bunny, so excited for you about your cornflowers.

Hope all the smelly dogs are clean now. My dog's favourite perfume is dead things.

I always thought they rolled to disguise their scent when they were hunting.

Hi everyone,

Sorry I missed the party but at least I'll have a clear head this morning. Hope you all got home okay and didn't have to pay extra to have the taxi cleaned.

Hello everyone,

Had an hour or so constructing my raised bed from sleepers. quite pleased with the result. I found some old brackets in the garage and screwed then together with them. Goggled raised beds and one similar to mine was over £300 so pleased to make mine for nothing. Will post a photo when rain stops. Still got to fill it up with horse poo and chicken poo with a layer of  MPC on top.

The RHS is giving away 10,000 packets of wild flower seeds to the first applicants so log on to their site to apply.
