Thanks all. I'll watch it on IPlayer.

I wish I lived nearer to come to your open day Pam. Do you have to be inspected every year to be included in The Yellow Book?

Shame on you, Becks.  I still love snow. Well done with Jess's bedtime.

Good morning all,

Wet and soggy here.

Your beef wellingtons do look scrummy. We had chicken wellingtons (if there is such a thing) with mushrooms and chorizo.

Have you a date yet for your open garden yet, Pam?

I thought the second part of A-Z of gardening  was on over the weekend but couldn't find it.I saw last weeks and am going to have a go at apple grafting. I've got three trees about 15 years old  and two planted last year.

Aren't dogs little darlings. It's usually something dead or fox poo they roll in. I bet he thinks he smells divine.

KIWI

I've had a self fertile kiwi for about 15 years and although it has plenty of flowers never had fruit. Looking at the photos in nutcutlet's post it looks to be a male plant.

Thanks all for your sympathy about my chickens. I let them out while I was in the garden earlier but they are still nervous. Safely back in their shed now.

Your daughter is lucky Bjay. I wonder if the pandas will perform this year.

Did any one see those adverts that popped up for wooly hats with a beard? I'd like to knit one of those for my grandson.

Good morning all,

Hope you all have a bit of sunshine too. The forcast says we are the only region not to have snow tomorrow.

I'm going to give up keeping chickens. I went out yesterday afternoon to find a lot of feathers everywhere, one chicken missing and one dying. I've only got four left now. It's almost impossible to keep them safe. They are shut up now and I'll let them out when I go in the garden soon but then put them away when I go inside again. I was talking to a friend of my DIL and she said that they have a big electric fence around their  chicken run. The fox can't get in but it runs around outside and panics the chickens and they fly over the fence. I'm afraid the fox has won.

No, Becks, if he goes think of all the free hols we can have.

I'm with Gary on the wildlife and hedges issue. I know farmers have to make a living and some are really struggling, but they can get grants to preserve sites for wildlife and as for keeping cows instead in huge sheds, it's as horrendous as keeping battery hens.

As Gary says, our gardens are really important for wildlife. I had a bumble bee feeding on winter flowering honeysuckle two days ago . I doubt it would have found any flowers in the wild this time of year. I hope the bee has gone safely back into hibernation or it's going to get a shock next week.

Good morning Pam and goodnight,Inka.

Hope everyone is okay.

My mission today is to clean out the greenhouse. Jo has made me feel guilty. I found a dead rat in the waterbutt. I thought it was mice that dug up my tulip bulbs but I suppose rats would too.

I've got lots of packets of opened seeds so I'm going to try one or two in a heated propagator to see if they are still viable before I buy any more.

I hope Geoff's speedos are safely out of sight of the people coming to view his house.

Catch up with you all later. Enjoy your day.

Oh,right,Geoff. As you say another fiasco. It should be up to the buyers to satisfy themselves how many energy saving bulbs etc. you have.

Is it an ornamental cherry, Rosa?

This is not the Geoff we know and love.   It's a stressful time selling a house. I don't understand why the estate agent wants money now. I thought they only got paid when they sold your house.
