Good morning all,

Sorry to hear the news from Tasmania, so frightening.

Another dry day so will get out in the garden again today. My grandson helped cut down a golden elder and I had to get a pickaxe to dig out a type of pendulus grass. It's quite nice in the wilder parts of the garden but this one was too near the house.

A clematis is already showing buds. I think it's 'The President', but it seems too early to cut it down. My dad used to say if a farmer is in shirt sleeves in January there is cold weather to come. I didn't see any farmers yesterday but my grandson stripped off to his T shirt

Have a good day all.

Yes, Geoff, don't forget your cyber friends.

Changing the subject, did anyone see Nature's Weirdest Events on BBC one two days ago? The polar bears were waiting for the ice to form and had gathered in a town in Churchill in Canada. One bear  went towards some sled dogs which were tethered and the owner thought that the bear would kill the dog. To his amazment the polar bear and dog started to play together. Chris Packam, the presenter, said that sometimes the play instinct is stronger than the hunger instinct. Really worth watching on IPlayer if you missed it.

, Good morning again all,

Popping in during tea break.

I think Spain would suit you well, Geoff. A friend of a friend moved there, near Alicante, and they love it. Although they are in their 70's the husband is still really active and earns a bit of pocket money doing odd jobs and airport runs for the neighbours. You'd make a fortune out there. As for the hospitals, his wife broke her hip and complications set in and she was unconsious for ten days. She is now back home. In this country she might have been put on the Liverpool Care Pathway.

Your garden is amazing, Pam. When do you start preparing for this year's display?

Good morning Forkers,

I haven't a clue what day it is.

I took this photo across the garden two days ago. Didn't Noah see a rainbow and it was a sign that the floods were over? I hope so.

Spring is on the way or have I spoke too soon?

Sorry about your cat bjay. It's so worrying when animals are ill as they can't tell us what is wrong.

I read about the property market in Spain, Geoff. Should get a good buy. Is Mrs. Geoff keen to go too?

I've got lots of horse poo or should I say pony poo as I've got two retired shetlands. I do get a lot of nettle seedlings and Frank (Palaisglide) told me that horses have a poor digestion and a lot of what they eat goes straight through including weed seeds. I think manure is more of a soil improver than a fertiliser.

Good morning all,

I don't have any Tarot  cards but I've got a plaque of the Green Man on the wall of the house. I did once dream the winning lottery numbers and have to do that line every week just in case.

In the middle of putting the posh plates etc. away after a family buffet yesterday. I was going to go in the garden today as it was supposed to be dry today but it's dark and miserable out there. Might start taking the decorations down instead.

My DIL said next year, or rather this year, she is going to wait until Christmas Eve to buy her Christmas tree as B&Q were selling them off for a penny.
