Good morning forkers,

Apologies for the absence but have been trying to keep up with you all.

Esther  would be proud of your veggies, Pam.

Poor Kate. I was press-ganged into helping supervise a bunch of 11 year olds walking round the local village noting down points of interest. I was exhausted after. I think it was the stress of making sure they didn't end up under a lorry.

No chance of me going into the 'Jungle' Flo. I quite like creepy crawlies, even spiders, Geoff ,but I can't bear to watch the so called celebs eating them. Some MP has been kicked out of the party for taking part. how was she supposed to do her job from Australia?

My grandson's birthday today so we are going to see 'Skyfall' Tonight.

Kate, I think it's good for both me and the grandkids. I tend to do the simple things with them where as their mam and dad are rushing around taking them to one activity or party after another.

Liked the spider cakes. Pam and Lottie's pumpkin face is impressive.

I think Geoff's neighbours are spies and MI5 is bugging the place. Loved your jokes.

Flo, really spooky photos. I wouldn't like to go in your woods tonight.

Happy Halloween Inka. I will only have my younger grandchildren, who live next door, Trick or Treating.  We don't live near enough to anyone else.

Good morning Ghosties and Ghoulies,

Hope everyone is now warm and keeping well.

This is my daughter and grandchildren taken yesterday when we went for a walk in the woods. It was a lovely day and hoping to see some fungi but none to be seen. It's back to be damp and chilly here today so not inspired to go in the garden.

Happy haunting

Flo, what were you going to do with those mushrooms?

I think I read somewhere that the Shamen in Lapland used to eat those mushrooms and that's when they saw reindeer flying. The ordinary people weren't allowed to eat the magic mushrooms so they'd look for the yellow snow where the shaman had been so they could go on a trip too.

Good morning Ghosties and ghoolies,

Lovely day here and going for a walk in the woods later with my daughter and grand-children. In the middle of making a big pan of soup from turkey legs for when we get home.

Poor Americans, it's going to take a lot of clearing up.

We weren't affected too much by Michael Fish's big storm but was chaos a few years later here in Cornwall. We didn't have electricty for 6 days as there are only two houses down our lane so we weren't a priority. A tree branch had fallen on the power lines to our houses. We eventually had a team from Ireland mending our line as so many lines were down the local work force couldn't cope. In a way it wasn't too bad although we did go round to a friends in the evening who had a rayburn. we later got a second hand oil-fired one ourselves. Very expensive to run and have not turned it on yet but at least if the electricty fails I'd be able to cook and keep warm.

Good morning fellow ghouls and ghoolies,

Glad everyone seems fine this morning and Inka has not been washed away.

There certainly seems to be some extreme weather around the world lately. Are the Mayan Prophecies starting to happen?

I'm devastated that Downton finishes next week. Sunday nights won't be the same. Perhaps there will be a Christmas special.
