Jean, you've got to read it now and give us your opinion. I haven't read it but from what I've heard the first book is a bit boring. One good thing about it is that some of the younger ones who never read have bought this one.

Becks have a lovely time. I'm sure you'll enjoy it once you get away. It's the hassle of getting ready to go that is the worst part of holidays.

Good morning all. I was reading in the paper yesterday that chains and shackles were disappearing from Blackpool Tower Dungeon and they think it's people trying to recreate scenes from 50 Shades of Grey.

Perhaps David could bring you something back. Jean

Hope you are enjoying your few hours of peace, Becks. Most kids today look forward to going back to school. I hated it, always had loads of homework to do that I had been putting off all holidays.

Lottie, a few years ago a local demonstration garden, Probus, was being sold by the council and they were auctioning off the individual gardens. We bought the contents of the pond garden and a Japanese garden. They gave us about three days to come and dig or take away the plants in the gardens. We made quite a few trips back and forth but on one visit we found that some of the choice plants had 'vanished'. I thought gardeners would be honest people apart from taking the odd cutting . I did feel sorry for some of the gardeners who were mostly volunteers. they were devastated  that the gardens were closing.

I hope you manage to get some nice plants, Lottie.

I'm with you flowering rose. It's lovely in the middle of winter to have a pudding made from the blackberries in the freezer. I do eat mushrooms that come up in our field but I know it can be risky. The family of Nichols Evens who wrote .The Horse Whisperer' was poisoned by mushrooms and I believe one of them is waiting for a kidney transplant.

What's the weather like in your area?

I think our children need our help more when they are grown up, Frank.

Not a bad day here in Cornwall, a bit overcast but brighter this afternoon.

Prefer the guy with the iron, Jean. The other one doesn't look strong enough to turn over my compost. That is my task for today.

Hope you enjoy the airshow, Flo.

Glad we have three more weeks of summer left, Kate.

I'm going to a car boot later, but I'm not taking any orders as you were all so disappointed when Geoff let you down.

Good morning all,

Lovely here in Cornwall but does feel cooler. There was an argument on the radio this morning whether today is the first day of Autumn.

My son and family came home yesterday from their holiday in Spain and they felt cold. I was in charge of their pets, guinea pigs and a hamster. Was worried about the hamster as she has outlived her lifespan but unfortunately the rabbit of some friends they went with went to the Ilysian Fields while they were away.
