I have posted about my chickens before,Flo. I have ten and one cockerel. I have a lot of trouble with foxes and even though the fox can't get in where they are in the photo they still fly over the gate. I could clip their wings but they wouldn't get up on the perch then.

What's the weather like in your area?

Glad you are feeling a bit better Maud and Frank also.

Lovely here in Cornwall. You've got sewage in the sea , Maud. We've got warnings about Portugese Man of War. Yikes.

I can't see that kitten moving out Flo. You will miss him when he goes.

There's a song that goes 'You're my favourite waste of time' and I think that applies to animals too. I could spend ages watching my chickens. They've all got different personalities.  the life of chickens and pigs in little cages doesn't bear thinking about.

Hope Pam and Becks as well as Jess enjoy their holidays.

Jess seems very like my grandaughter. Her parents have given up telling her too far ahead about treats, holidays etc. as she drives them mad. Has she been on a plane before, Becks?

Yes,Kate, the owner was devasted and offered to pay for any vet's bills if needed.

Joys of keeping animals but I wouldn't be without them.

Where's Jean? I bet she has gone to the book shop.

Yesterday was a bit traumatic. I took my German Shepherd to the vets as he had a sore bit under his tail about the size of a ten pence. The vet said he thought it was an auto-immune condition that only affects this breed and the only drug, which isn't guaranteed to work, cost £500 a month, way beyond my means.  I came away with anti- biotics and steroids and a bill of £152.

We used to have a vet near us who worked out of a shed in his garden and the rates were so reasonable. We queued up in cars outside and we trusted him. He never charged for wild animals or very small children's pets.

The black and white dog is my daughters and he was on a lead last night when he was attacked by a staffie. It took the owner and three others to get him off. He's not too badly hurt but has come over to me today while my daughter is at work as he was very frightened. So altogether yesterday was not a good dog day.

Jean, you've got to read it now and give us your opinion. I haven't read it but from what I've heard the first book is a bit boring. One good thing about it is that some of the younger ones who never read have bought this one.

Becks have a lovely time. I'm sure you'll enjoy it once you get away. It's the hassle of getting ready to go that is the worst part of holidays.

Good morning all. I was reading in the paper yesterday that chains and shackles were disappearing from Blackpool Tower Dungeon and they think it's people trying to recreate scenes from 50 Shades of Grey.

Perhaps David could bring you something back. Jean

Hope you are enjoying your few hours of peace, Becks. Most kids today look forward to going back to school. I hated it, always had loads of homework to do that I had been putting off all holidays.

Lottie, a few years ago a local demonstration garden, Probus, was being sold by the council and they were auctioning off the individual gardens. We bought the contents of the pond garden and a Japanese garden. They gave us about three days to come and dig or take away the plants in the gardens. We made quite a few trips back and forth but on one visit we found that some of the choice plants had 'vanished'. I thought gardeners would be honest people apart from taking the odd cutting . I did feel sorry for some of the gardeners who were mostly volunteers. they were devastated  that the gardens were closing.

I hope you manage to get some nice plants, Lottie.
