Winter pansies.

Hi Jean, for the last two years I've bought the winter violas and they seem healthy at first then get brown spots on their leaves then eventually die. I thought it was some sort of fungal disease.

Where's Becks? Has she done a Shirley Valentine or lost her laptap? She promised to keep- us posted while she was on holiday.

Hello Flowerchild.

Talking about cold, I heard on the radio that Ranulph Fiennes is planning to walk across Antartica  in the winter when it can be minus 70. He's a pensioner has had cancer and a heart attack. I did enjoy his book 'The Feather Men'. It's about how the SAS look after their own. One of the best books I've read. I think it has a grain of truth in it.

Frank, is it okay to put fresh horse poo straight on the garden where nothing will be planted 'til spring? No straw or anything in just straight from the field.

Looking forward to Downton tonight. Been busy in the garden grass cutting and weeding the gravel drive so hope I stay awake. I think you get it later than us,Inka, so we won't tell you what happens.

Hope your chickens have called a truce,Geoff. I've still got two separate gangs and the newer ones are the offspring of the older ones that I hatched in an incubator.

Inka, your buns sound scrummy. Hope your taster approves. The deer should leave your bulbs alone. Daffodils are one of the few things that the rabbits I'm plagued with don't eat.

Are you going to the art classes again this year?

Going back to sheep dog trials, watch the video on You Tube about the rabbit herding sheep. So fuuny to see the sheep being chased by a tiny rabbit. Perhaps someone could post it on here as i haven't figured out how to do it yet.

Good morning forks,

I've just come in for a coffee and could do with one one those, Kate.

I've been planting daffodils along the lane that leads to our cottages. My grandaughter helped me. I told her when she went to school next year along the lane she'll remember that she planted them.

Your chickens are amazing, Geoff. how did you train them to play football? Are the newcomers laying yet?

Was it a gardening accident, Dan?
