Growing cabbage

I grew durham early last year, started some off in greenhouse, then when seedlings were nice size ,planted out along with some seeds, and had a good crop. Tried a second lot but these were all eaten  by butterflies, they are quite voracious when they get scent of cabbages. So sticking to early crop this year before the butterflies get going.

In the new Feb mag one of the sub-editors talks about landcress being a good salad.Has anyone tried it, what does it look like, is it worth giving it a try. The editor says it tastes like watercress.

Thanks PP.

The charlottes I harvested had not flowered, but were reasonable sizes.

l read that you don't always have to wait for them to flower before harvesting-is this correct.
