Oh that sounds awful obelix please do be careful,  I was still in pot this time last year so I can relate to not been able to do much in the garden, just take your time and make sure you have healed properly before doing stuff in the garden.

I woke up this morning to an inch of that horrid wet snow and it was still snowing,  finally stopped about 10.30 ish,  by the time I'd got back from town 1 pm it had all gone,  so glad about that,  hasn't dropped below freezing all day so that must be a plus point,  not quite sure about the weather tomorrow but could do with some good dry stuff as I got a load of plants from B+Q bit weather worn but at 10 pence a plant can't complain,  got a beautiful Black Grass looks a right stunner.

I'm going to try some trailing begonia's this year for the first time they look so delicate but I do hope they have some strength in them as where I hang the baskets it does quite windy and likely to get battered.

Must admit to doing some gardening even in the bitter cold,  I just had to get some Primroses in that I got 3 weeks ago if not longer,  it has been bitter cold here and a few snow flakes flitting about for the last 3 days so I reckon that someone somewhere must have had some serious snow,  the highest it's been today was 2.9c it's 1.0c now and the gritter has just gone up the road !

It was an absolute cracker of a morning,  nice crisp frost and wall to wall sunshine still and fresh wonderful morning,  then by lunch time it was grey and misty also went from 7.8c down to 5.3c in the matter of an hour,  at point I thought it would snow even though that's forecast tomorrow

These are my baskets from 2011 as last year they were a complete wash out.

The Tumbling Toms did great in there and so easy to pick off while in the garden doing things.

Went to the GC today with my friend and got some seed compost also some general potting compost 4 bags for £10.00,  it's nice stuff much better than B+Q's Verve as that has gone all twiggy sort of not rotted down properly so just need some warmer weather now so I can set some seeds away.

Each to their own Geoff,  maybe some of the newbies feel as if they would be interfering  with some of the long standing posters and as The Fork Handles is now at 21.000 + they might feel it's rather too long to start reading it,  that's what I meant about long winded,  maybe  there should be something like The Potting Shed that gets changed every month.
