I agree with Obelix (nice to see you on here by the way),  The Fork Handles one is now a bit long winded and for me has had it's day,  that's my opinion and don't want to upset anyone we are entitled to our opinion's

Ill snowdrop?

Don't panic,  I have a couple coming through like that,  give them time and they will droop as the are supposed to and I guess that the brown marks may be a touch of frost bite,  they are hardy little things so don't worry about them.

Has anyone got any snow yet?

I have about 8 inches of the blasted stuff,  had a nice steady slow thaw this morning everything going nicely then about 4.30 it started again and carried on the flakes getting bigger and bigger,  it's stopped at the moment but for how long I don't know.

Have put my  bins out but remains to see if the bin men make it tomorrow !

I did spot a product at the GC yesterday that you could apparently add to bird baths to prevent/limit the freezing, but no idea of it's name, sorry. J.

Don't bother getting it anybody,  I checked it out on Amazon and all the comments about say it's a complete waste of money and it only works up to -3c at the end of the day if the birds get desperate for a drink they will eat the snow not ideal I know but they will manage in fact I saw 3 of my Blackbirds doing that very thing this afternoon as the birdbath is frozen solid I try to keep a dish on the go but failed today.

Hi Geoff,  it's  as well as it's  going to be I think,  ankle does get quite stiff sometimes when it's really cold,  don't have the flexibility I had but then it's got plates and pins in either side,  still swells up so limited as to what I can get on my feet,  it doesn't pain me just aches a bit now and then,  scared to death when it's icy but fine on the snow as I put those snowtrax on my boots, safe as houses in them,  thanks for asking.

Guess that means the snow is heading my way Jo as we are ona  similar parallel I think,  it is forecast for Friday and the sky does look a bit grey now,  it was blue sky and sunshine ho hum

Hi Pam, tablet is presumably for rest of life! It's because bones are showing the early stages of thinning- osteoperosis- joy!

Had a bone scan as routine because of other tablets taking & the type of chemo had had/having.   Drs decided that must've already been showing signs of early problems before I started treatment. Hence the tablet, which you take weekly & for which you must remain vertical (!) if not fully awake in my case.

You take it weekly with a lot of water, all plain, to wash it quickly down to the stomach, as one of it's side effects is erosion of walls of oesophagus. No food nor drink until at least 30mins, so who absently took a chewable vitamin c tablet earlier? Which reminds me, need to get rest of meds otherwise will forget to take those J.

That sounds like the tablet I take Jo  since fracturing my ankle December 2011 when they did all the test's they found I was border line for osteoporosis so started me on them then.

It was -11.2c when I got up this morning  it's only -6c now it has "warmed" up up bit

When I went to bed last night it was -7.8c,  when I got up this morning it was -11.2c, and now it's only -7.5c,  cant see it getting much warmer. so cold in fact that I haven't even taken the dog out as it's too cold for her feet,  she got them burnt 2 years ago when the council put the grit/salt down on the footpaths so one foot is very tender when it's this cold,  so she had a mad dash in the back garden then dashed back in again.

Took these yesterday morning some are my back garden the rest are in the woods just out the back of me.
