 This is my Christmas tree,  I've lived here for 6 years now and when I put the tree in it was up to the height  of the middles bar just below the bird house,  I normally put lights and decorations on but the ground has been to wet to get over to it,  might have to bight the bullet and do it sooner rather than later.

Bit like you weather wise Frank my side of The Styx,  did have a hail shower this morning as I was coming back from taking the dog out but didn't last long,  not very warm today either at 3.5c and a very naughty Westerly wind that cuts right through,  last rays of sunshine breaking through the clouds

Clearing snow...

Zoomer,  my Snowtraks came from Canada but I got another pair off Amazon,  also TJHughes sells them,  my local store in Middlesbrough reopened a couple of months ago they have them at £6.99,  have a look on Amazon,  what price safety.

What's the weather like in your area?

Wall to wall sunshine here today and a tropical 6.7c ground still very wet from the snow on Wednesday and the rain on Thursday,  looks like "The Beast from the East" has done a detour somewhere else  lets hope it has,  don't need or want 3-4 inches of snow this early in the season,  after Christmas will do.

Must have had some hellish rain through the night as the borders in the back garden were under water this morning when I got up at least all the snow has gone,  it's a tropical 6.7c even now it's the warmest it's been all day.

Clearing snow...

I'm like you Zoomer I clear the front path,  I don't drive but I do like to keep the path clear,  I was lead to believe that you can clear the drive/path as long as you leave it safe that's putting plenty of salt/grit to make it safe,  I fractured my ankle in 2 places last year slipping on black ice so needless to say I'm scared of going out with the dog when it's icy,  the snow doesn't bother me as I have 2 pair of those Snowtrax which stop you slipping,  they do work they are the best things ever invented.

Signs of Spring!!!

According to Sky News  there's a bad weather front heading this way with heavy snow and temperatures of -6c or colder,  it's been named by someone "The Beast from the East" it's the East coast that's going to get hit North and South due so they say about Wednesday so fill your shelves and get the milk in as you could get snowed in or you could take it with a pinch of salt !

I live in the North East as well,  Middlesbrough in fact,  I cut my grass the 2nd week in November before all the rains came but it's slowed down a lot now with the cold weather so will be Spring before the next one.

I have copious amounts of Tete a Tete daffs through no sign of Crocus yet they are usually the first in my garden also in a pot out the front I think there's a Muscari poking out,  think the cold will see that off.
