There is a divine smelling  Honeysuckle near to me that just fills the night air with a wonderful scent,  it's growing wild so I fancy having a go at growing some,  so,  my question is where do I cut the stems how long do they need to be and when is the best time to do this.

What's the weather like in your area?

No where near as nice as yesterday,  the sun didn't get out till 2ish nice and sunny now though but not quite as warm as yesterday at 21.2c and there's that cooling breeze again why does it have to spoil the nice warmth,  better make the most of it as there's low pressure coming back  so no doubt that means wind and rain.

Been an absolute cracker of a day,  not a cloud in sight at 7am but by 9 the clouds were rolling in but boy it was hot 23.1c in the garden,  by lunch time out came the sun again few wispy clouds so tackled the back garden,  got loads done so well pleased and still had time to sit in the garden and start my tan off again,  should it be nice again tomorrow I can just sit in the garden and enjoy my efforts.

Lavenderlady I think you will find that those chicks are indeed Collard Doves and personally I think they are soooo cute and lovely,  I have 2 pair that come into the garden and they bring the "young un's"  with them,  such a treat to see them fit and healthy more so after the terrible weather there's been.

What's the weather like in your area?

Don't you just get sick,  I've just had a HAIL storm and they were huge it's turned to rain now so the Summer for me was the last 3 days I guess,  never mind it's August on Wednesday so maybe Summer will come back please please.

Rose prunning's as Geoff suggested also a water pistol that works a treat but you need to hang around for it to visit to zap it,  I was lucky it only took about 6 visit's zap wise, it doesn't come back but I've fastened the rose pruning's down as the little **** used to very carefully pull them off,  the more thorns the better.

I have a male Blackbird in the garden called Charlie,  he brought his wife and family to see me then ate some of my strawberries,  just as well I have 2 containers but with him and the snails I doubt I shall get much in the way of fruit this year,  I don't mind Charlie and his family taking them but I do to the snails.
