Just reading that its short-lived, oh well.
My dad's had wallflowers for donkeys years and done nothing with them but they come up every year!
Sorry Pottie Pam I don't look on the forum very often when I haven't anything current going on!
Yours is similar, I'd say it was a bush-cricket, but they all look so much alike.
Thanks Daintiness - thats it! Checked with the NHM website and it exactly fits the Southern oak bush-cricket. When you turn it upside-down you can see where its back legs would have been.
Thanks again all.
Is this one any better? Yes I am holding the 'tail' part which curves upwards.
Nutculet - I do know how many legs it has thanks - 4! With two long, fine antenna.
Anyone know what this is - found on a windowledge in a front garden in Dagenham
Sorry about the picture quality!.
No freecycle in my area the last time I tried - will try again.
Thanks for your advice RD - will let you know how I get on.
RD - I'm based on the London/Essex border.
RD - thanks. How do you access these pages? Could I set up this sort of thing in my area too?
I'm new to Facebook - whats a free page?
Correct bigolob and Peter12.
My tomatoes are the best ever (3 years of trying) and I was away at the start of the heatwave worrying if they would all be dead when I got back. But NO! - even the ones outside the small growhouse have survived and flourished. I took off all unnecessary foliage so the goodness went straight to the flowers-cum-fruits and pinched out the tops. I did practically drown them before I went away though.......
