Rose and clematis combination

Posted: 23/02/2014 at 22:21

Climbing rose suggestions please!

Got a six foot tree stump to grow climbers up. Open south west facing site, moist soil.

Would like rose/clematis combo if possible. Any suggestions re varieties  please?

Front garden very uninteresting

You could shape your lawn. Add curves to make it more interesting and give extra planting space. I agree with comments re feeding and improving the soil - cant beat real compost and well rotted manure!  Looking good!

Talkback: How to prune a plum tree

You need to prune the long new growth as it starts to harden. Doing this will encourage side fruiting spurs to form.

We have no fruit this year on our plum or greengage thanks to the cold wet spring, I assume! Trees look healthy, though. There's always next year!

Help my bleak garden!

You could make your lawn circular instead of square. Just need a peg, line and spade!

This will give you larger 'corners' to plant in and reduce the box like feel.
