I have tried growing potatoes in special bags for two years with very dissapointing results and that is following the instructions.No more,its not worht it.

My compost bin has worked very well over the years but this year it is jammed in the middle,inspite of hefty blowsdownward.I now have to scrape away from under with a trowel !!!

I have a small garden with one water lily plant 4 newts plus a water feature.My only problem is keeping the water clean.I have tried various soluble cleaners plus straw bails,no joy,i shall have to empty it and try again. Any ideas?

Being new to gardening i find your articles very helpful. Loved the recent one about mixing herbs with plants.
One question when you say deadhead flowers is it the top or whole stalk like Iris?

This was my first year of growing fruit trees. They are bush type apple pear plum and cherry.I had no fruit at all, would this be normal for the first year? I also had leaf blotches and curled leaf which i sprayed with insectacide. A new area for meany tips please?
