Fig tree pruning

Thanks again both.
So the upshot is to leave it for now and then shape it a bit when it develops further.

Fingers crossed for the fruit.

Thanks both. No, I'm going to keep it in the pot and let it develop a crown shape rather than a flat fan shape. Is it worth removing the "iffy" leaves? What constitutes iffy?

I have a fig tree growing in a pot in my garden and it's starting to grow in all sorts of directions, is it worth pruning out some of the new branches now?  Any tips on pruning?

Many thanks in advance

I have these mushrooms growing on my shredded wood/bush chippings in my garden.  Is anyone able to id them?  what do we reckon edible or deadly?

It depends how much I can forage.

I have a load of blackberries to use, so may make some blackberry and elderberry jam.  But wine is an option.

Thanks both.

Now to see if I can reach them.

Near to where I live, where I pick my blackberries, there are these berries.  My question is are they elderberries? or something a bit more nefarious?

What to plant

That's a good point about what we like.

Raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries (though there are loads elsewhere in the garden and locally), I love plums/damsons, kiwis and peaches.  Apples are a possibility. Unfortunately my favourite fruits are generally exotic - mango, papaya etc...

There is a short fence (~1m height)  that runs along the back of the patch so I was thinking of putting posts and wires in.

Thanks for the reply

What to plant

After some ideas here.

I have cleared a bed in my garden which was full of brambles - plenty of blackberry jam and tarts this summer.  Now I am after ideas of what to put in there.

It is ~9.5m x 0.8m and faces South East (the last metre or so - south end - is slightly shaded by trees).

I was thiking of breaking the area into three sections of 3m length.

I want to do plant some raspberries - which third would be best?  Any thoughts on what other fruit would be good?
