Beechgrove Garden Goes National.

well i really enjoyed beechgrove but looks cold up in scotland, and as for gardeners world i could watch it every night people need to understand montys garden is big and alot bigger than most people gardens but it needs to be so we can relate to at least one bit in our gardens. Theres always a mixture of things on GW and always tips we can pick up along the way.

Growing veg for local village show

Hi this year i would like to grow some carrots for my local village show, just for abit of fun grow carrots ever year but nothing of a show standard so would like to give it ago

i understand sweet candle is a good carrot to go with but then am abit stuck with techniques to growing these:- greenhouse or outside, raised beds or bins and compost to use,

i understand you need to use sharp sand then make the holes and fill them with compost, if anyone has had any success doing this before or could give me any knowledge would really appreciate it

hmmmmm strawberrys, quite easy to grow in pots and as for veg give everything ago you like just look for varities which are container friendly

Thanks chicky hope i have better look tried two packets of rudbeckia from seed this year with no luck dont think the seeds have had a cold period for them to germinate but every dark cloud has its silver lining good luck with yours should look brill in summer with that collection.

Wormeries

hi use 1 part liquid feed to 10 parts water, i would invest in a new one as they dont like being waterlogged, but they do give a very good feed to plants

hey chicky its page 83 i bought rudbeckia verbena and yeah they are small but very healthy should be bigger enough to put out at end of may.

Herb border

Herbs i would defo go with rosemary chives (nice flowers as well) oregano thyme and sage and would give you a nice evergreen herb garden with great herbs then put a few annuals during summer months.

would look great in a dry stone construction just like toby buckland did a few years ago on gardeners world

Today i recieved my plug plants from suttons the offer which was in gardeners world and would just like to tell everyone how impressed i am with them and would recommed them first time i've used them but will defo be going back, all potted on and snug in the greenhouse
