Potted Lupins

I recently noticed that some of my Lupins after i pruned them just had a little stump left which has gone brown. I dug them up and they didn't have a lot of roots, think they might have been rotting so i put them in a pot and put them in my greenhouse for the winter. Will they grow back and if so do i need to water them in these pots over the winter? All that is there at the moment is a sorry looking brown stump

Ok thanks Hollie. Do you know how often i should water them? they are looking very poorly today and the tips of some leaves are wilting and going black

I got the 5 penstemons from the t&m offer too today in the post. They are small plugs and i have potted them up and put them in my greenhouse for the winter? How often do i need to water them over winter though and will they grow much? I watered them today and tonight one already looks like its starting to wilt and shrivel. Should i not have watered them?
