Slugs and their relatives

Has anyone got any surefire ways to stop slugs and the like eating everything I've planted,It seems the only things they dont like are onions and potatoes that are thriving well in the veg patch . I did hear marigolds would be beneficial , I planted about 20 of those and they disappeared also, I would appreciate any help , thanks

Thanks for the info, did'nt really think they would amount to much apart from being able to say I did get them to grow from a pip , thanks again

Hello, I have managed to grow from pips the start of what appears to be 2 apple plants and 2 orange plants,will these ever bear fruit as they get older or do they need to be grafted onto other stock. Any information at all would be helpful

Has anyone got advice on how to encourage rhubarb to grow, I put this in the ground about two months ago. Tried darkness to force the stalks , but what has grown has been ver feeble with very thin shoots , would manure be of any benefit

Can anyone help please, I have ants eating the runner bean foliage, I also have young caterpillars eating the leaves on the redcurrant bush . What preventative measures can I take , any ideas would be a help thanks

Thanks to you all , I dug 4 plants up last night and the crop seems to be ok, so they'll be in the pot tonight for dinner , once again thank you all so much
