Marion that's gorgeous! All your hard work is definitely paying/payed off! Is there more to come throughout the rest of the year?

Moving peony

Posted: 26/03/2014 at 19:07

I'm so glad that this thread exists. There's a big clump of peonies in my front garden that was here before we moved in (we rent) and for the last few years. But, late 2012 someone drove straight through our front wall and ran over the paeonies and then the next day got A load of his mates to start rebuilding the wall and trash them even further! they flowered fine (remarkably!) and I've left them, but would really like to move them, just in case something like that ever happened again. I shall now move them  Is now fine?

I've used Lavender World before it was around August last year and they were doing a really good deal of 10, ex 9cm pots for £10! A Bargain! Was so pleased when they came in the post. The reason why they were so cheap were because they weren't good enough to sell at full price, but when they arrived most looked better than the ones at my local GC

Haha thanks Star  I do hope you made that!

I think we should all chip in a create a cultivar of Verd's favourite plant and call it 'Verdun' !

Mine was a few weeks ago, feel a bit hard done by now! I want another one! June 21st would be great

Insurance cheque arrived, Polytunnel 2 , here we come.

Posted: 25/03/2014 at 19:01's hugeeeeeeee! And I really should have thought before asking you what you were going to put in it!  I'm so envious, my gardeni is about the size of fidgets poly tunnel!

Oh that reminds me, Fidget, thankyou very much for the Aquilegia seeds, I got them Saturday! So excited!  I wasn't being rude, but I can't seem to reply to messages on here, nor am I getting the email notifications, which is a tad annoying.

Apple Tree

Posted: 25/03/2014 at 18:04

Hi K,

My apple tree and all the apple trees we have at college are still dormant, they are fairly late plants when coming into leaf. I wouldn't worry about it for now, but if we get to mid April and there's still nothing, that's when you can start to worry.

if you want to know now, just gently scratch the bark on some of the smaller twigs to see if it's green. Green means it's alive.

hope this helps

looking for prunus!

That seems like a very tricky-to-get-hold-of tree. May I ask why you want that particular cultivar? As there are many others that are similar, would they be of interest?
