Brugmansia - Angel's Trumpet

Posted: 02/07/2015 at 20:36

It was about this time last year that I was getting so excited because my Brugmansia was just showing signs of it's first ever flowers. I very nervously cut it back at the end of the season and over wintered it in the house. Well it seems I cut it back ok because I just counted 30 flower buds! So happy!!!

Oh Nut! I would be beyond happy if it were! I would have to move it as it is drowned out by my Fuschia!

Taps foot waiting impatiently for it to open!

I was given the plant below the year before last, I was told it was a Crocosmia. It didn't flower last  year. This year it has thrown up 4 flowers but they are certainly not Crocosmia flowers. Can someone help me identify it?

Landgirl I love the colour, it may not come across in my picture but it is a deep burgundy.

Fidgetbones it is grown from seed, all planted about 2 years ago, all coming into flower this year. I shall call it Aquilegia Inquieto (latin for Fidget!)

No Maureen (well not in my garden) I wish it had, this is the first year of flowering for all of my Aquilegias.

I think I gathered the seed for this Aquilegia 2 or 3 years ago and I don't remember where from. It is unlike any of the others I have. The colour is not one I can find on the internet and the flower itself is very small compared to others I have seen or own. Can anyone help?
