Help with my Viburnum

Posted: 12/05/2014 at 07:18

All other plants  /shrubs healthy. Its a woody shrub, looks ok, still green underneath, but would have expected to see some attempt to grow back, leaves do look like might be a mold? But that might just be cold weather over last month. No sign of damaged on trunk .

About a month ago I had a shrub 4ft   (In old money ) with  green leaves, ready to flower, 2days later whole shrub has shriveled.  No sign of life, but brances when broken show some green. Was hoping to see some show of life after a month,  but weather has been cool and  still looking very dead.

Is this a "cut my loses " and take it out, or should i be patient, could life possibly be re kindled?

Any suggestions appreciated

Heavy rain all day here, but I have seen sparrows, bluetit, blackbirds, robin, pigeon, starling.

Most of the birds stayed under cover.

They are next to each other. But different trees.

The bonsais  came next.... We have a selection of native trees, no doubt not correctly adjusted for  true bonsai followers but we have lots of fun.

It has only happened in the last month, not caused over the winter, possible a stong  cold wind or  a late frost on new growth.

Not sure which type, were bought as small trees, original grown as pots, growth is all on ends of brances,  not flat grown like other we have.  They were moved into a bed  after 15 years. Then moved to a back lane, where they were uprooted by passing drunks. It was at this point we saw some in a garden centre, retrieved both which had been uprooted  and dumped over a wall.

I carefully cut  out small side  branches to leave a structure, then shapped the clouds. We have had lots of fun, very attached to them now.

I made my raised beds so they fit to the slabs! But with suitable sizes to use as raised beds
