Pistachio nut shells sounds like a plan KEF. Going to have to try that one

I've been liberally scattering broken egg shells around my flower and veg beds. This with coffee grounds seemed to work last year. My main problem now is rogue cats digging everything up to hide their little presents!!!!!

Just an update on the hedge!!!! We planted just before the storms hit in December, thankfully because the fence would not have lasted. Am curently watching the buds swell on a daily basis and admiring my incredibly open view of the field behind the house, through the temporary chicken wire fence we have erected for a small bit of security.

Looking good so far

DIY Potting Shed

Hi all. Just wondering if anyone has ever built there own potting shed from recycled materials? Having recently lost my greenhouse to the wind, I am looking at replacing it with a potting shed and am planning on building to my own design using mainly recycled materials. Just wondering if it was possible seeing as I havent got the sort of money companies are asking for a new one

Thanks KEF. It was a bit of a shock. This one was a plastic covered aluminium frame. Firmly dug into the ground, with slabs around it to weight the skirts down!!!! What shocked me most was that the staging was still stood there, slabs all in place and even left me one plant pot still on the staging. I have to laugh now, wasnt at the time, but can now say that the good lady has found it. Its currntly about 300 yards from the house, completely flat and pressed against a hawthorn hedge in the corner of the field!!! Looks pretty unsalvageable

No idea where it went. Found the door in a couple of pieces in the field behind the house, but no sign of the rest yet!!!
