Greenhouse gone to see the wizard of Oz!!!!

Posted: 17/02/2014 at 08:12

Morning all. As the title says my greenhouse has gone to see the wizard of Oz. Woke up Saturday morning to find that my greenhouse had blown away in the wind. It amazed me though as one plant pot was still in place on the intact shelving!!!!

Couldnt believe it. Cheeky thing even had the audacity to knock the fence over as it left. Hope everybody survived the storms intact. At least it was only my greenhouse that went, I realise that there are others far worse off than me.

I wouldnt worry about the poppy seeds in the farmers field. Most fields around me have wild poppies growing in them anyway, its a sign of rural Britain at its best, golden corn and poppies together

Might just do that. Where would be the best place to put the cutting once done. Have a potting shed, utility room window or a small polythene type walk in greenhouse?

Just wondering when would be the best time to take Mahonia cuttings so that I can propogate some new plants for my shade garden?

Many Thanks

Well, I have talked it through and the wife has ruled out any sort of prickly/thorny hedge, due to the above mentioned problems of trimming and disposing and we have ordered some beech. Hopefully as mentioned this may become naturalised over time with other species. I am already planning some planting of clematis and honeysuckle to grow through it, so hopefully all will work out. Thank you everyone
