Hi got a new plot of council the paths are already made so I have about 8 good sized raised beds but ant been used for about 5 years so I have streamed it all as it was like a jungle got my horse manure patch done and got 6 ton of it now should I dig and turn it over as its manly all grass.Then in a bout 4 weeks after frost has got to the weeds and that I was going to put manure on top as its well rotted.any advice please I want the ground sorting out before I put me shed and greenhouse up many thanks for advice in advance

hi my onions are going yellow and dieing off done nothing different this year then previous years apart from different allotments got one closes to home ill try and upload picture tomorrow any advice many thanks

thanks lazy gardener for advice i planted them out today.

I thought this site was for people to help new gardeners so thanks to all you expert gardeners im off to a diiferent forum to get advice

hi got some asparagus plants for garden centre at weekend and just wondering should i plant them out there in cold frame and how do i plant them never grown them before i have a 10 by 6ft bed  many thanks for advice in advance

hi should i plant my cabbages/broccil/caulies and sprouts out yet there in the cold frame in 9cm pots doing very well im just in 2 mind if a should wait or not any advice welcome many thanks

manured raised bed

Hi got loads of manure dropped of in feb which it was all dumped on one of my raised beds untill i moved it to the manure pile any way i moved it all about 4 weeks ago i have rotavoted it twice now.What would grow best in this raised bed many thanks

p.s i only grow veg turnips cabbage/sprouts/broc/caulie/punkings/leeks

Hi i have about 30 turnip plugs i started of in feb which are ready to plant out i live in teesside do you think its ok to plants them out next weekend there in my cold frame which i open every day so they will be hardened off by now many thanks

Hi just got an allotment off the council after waiting ove 5 years but already had a private one which was located about 8 miles from my house the new one is only 2 minute walk which is excellent.Anyway i have a good rubarb patch at my old garden which i want to move down to the new one is it still ok to move it or not i have till end of april to hand the keys back i have the new patch ready for it as well as had the garden since october but finaly got it the way i want it after so hard work well very hard work  many thanks
