New plot

Just got an allotment off the council after 6 and  half years of waiting but was talking to other allotment holders they only wait a couple of years what a con but thats another matter.

The grass is about 4 foot high so i have streamed it just wondering how other people got rid of the grass did you dig it over or use rotavotor ant advice please many thanks

Cucumbers!!

yeah it will be slugs they have eaten throw one of my stems in the greenhouse.Dont really like using slug pellets but i had two or gunna have no plants left.

im growing water melons also in a poly tunnel.have not got a clue how to grow them but my 5 year old son wanted to grow them doing well at moment thou.we will have to see what happens

Seven year old tomato plant

has it always been in the house or did it have a season outside.im not an expert or anything but it might be good for george if he never produced any fruit for a year pincing the flowers of or something.Give the little fella a break.

wow you learn something new every day.Gunna give one of mine ago this year got a big bay window in spare bedroom gunna stick one on there see what happens.Never new they could last longer then a season.

broad beans

Hi only been growing veg for couple of years now but first year that im growing broad beans and my grandad loves them.

Is it right if you pinch the tops out it will stop black fly if so when should i do this.

They are about 3 foot high with flowers on at the moment.

Anyone else started to plant veg out side yet.

Had a walk round allotments this afternoon when rain fainly stoppped kmow one has anything in apart for spuds and onions.

Planted my cabbages/broc/callie out today hope they will be ok.

Gunna wait till first week of june to plant my courgetts and outdoor toms and runner beans.

Any advice of atlantic punkings got 4 plants of a mate for my son but have not got a clue how two grow them.

Hi last year was my first time i got my allotment both my rows of carrots got carrot fly i was just wondering is there any ways of preventing this apart from raised beds which plan on doing in winter.many thanks for advice in advanced.

Scum thats all they are can not leave any thing alone.

When we got broke in we started to take every think home with us but it was a bit of a pain.So we went to the pound shop and bought a padlock from there. so i buried  barrell in my horse maure and i keep my tools in there with a seal tight lid.Apart from rotavotor which i always take home.
