Thanks very much, the link was really helpful, sounds just right.  Thanks too for planting advice.

I have just cut down an old honeysuckle which I inherited when I moved to the house 5 years ago. It never had more than a few small flowers. I want to replace it with one or two more. I shall not plant in in exactly the same spot but perhaps 2 or 3 feet away. I will be north west facing. Any suggestions on a heavy flowering scented variety and how should I prepare the soil?

Sheila's just gone out - husband Brian here.

We've looked at this, and the furthest we can get with uploading images is that the facility will be 'available soon' - also, there aren't the text tools here that are shown on the illustration.

Is it possible that this facility isn't available in all areas?

We've explored the possibility of HTML v Plain Text, but there doesn't seem to be a mechanism for toggling between the two. Hope we're not missing the obvious, but it does seem that quite a number of people are having the same problem.

My kitchen window faces north and towards my side entrance which is about 1.5m wide. It gets some evening sun. Could anyone suggest some plants to give interest for as much of the year as possible? They would need to grow about 1.5m but not damage my neighbour???s fence or have invasive roots. I have made a simple narrow raise bed to accommodate them.

Clematis not developing

I grew clematis in a slightly acid heavy soil successfully for years. Since moving to a light, neutral soil four years ago I have planted several clematis. The established one from my old garden still flowers but has very little new growth. Others have barely survived the winter and just manage to replace the little growth they had when first bought before struggling during the next winter. Two plants, usually easy to grow President and Montana bought as fairly large plants died. I plant them with extra compost and shade with a small plant. They are in a variety of positons , mainly South East facing. What should I feed the plants with to encourage strongergrowth?

Hi PotterAngie,
That's a really good idea I already put some very dry sheep pooh in at about 30cm when planting runner beans, retains water and of course fertilizes.
