Berghill - i hate the thought of you feeling left out! I think it is the 'project' videos that are being spoken of. Just put videos in the search box at the top

The ads on the videos only last about 13 seconds and are on most websites like this, and as Obelixx states, help pay for the website.

Personally I would cut it back. This will help the plant put energy into new growing new roots.

Can anyone recommend a lettuce I can sow now in the greenhouse that tastes more like the butterheads than the 'winter' varieties the leaves of which I find hard?

I grew beetroot for the first time this year. We've had a mix of sizes but none as big as I'd hoped. I think it was all the rain - they didnt get a chance to put down a good root system and then too little sun and warmth.

We have eaten ours grated in salad, very nice.

Thank you Paull2, I thought November was the time to plant. Saying that, we have now decided to make the border along one side of the garden smaller so we can get an extra tree in   that will take us a while as that part was still neglected and had to be sorted out. Two birds with one stone, or pip!!

Thank you both. I would like to get them in this year (plant in Novenber?) so still have plenty of time to educate myself!
