Roses

Please help I have 3 roses in pots they have been in about 3 months and were doing well, now suddenly they have gone brown and brittle and although they are making some new growth and have buds on I am worried that I will lose them, they are watered regularly and have been fed with a general purpose fertiliser

I wished I never seen it

I love Casualty.

A good joke on Facebook  today. Man said "my wife texted me to say she was in Casualty, I have watched all 50 minutes of it and didn't see her once and  she is still not home and I am starving ". Well it made me laugh anyway

Willow trees

Willow trees,  we  have 2 of them at the back of the house that do not belong to me as they are on land outside my garden and they are about 60ft tall,  10 years ago they were straight, now they are bending backwards, I think I once read that they have a 'pancake' rooting system. I am worried that they may come down in the high winds with serious damage to my house and garden,

When should I prune my very large Hydrangeas, how much shall I take off, they are leggy and falling over. I noticed that my neighbour has recently pruned hers to about 2ft from the ground, I think she always does this and they have looked fantastic this year, short and compact and covered in flowers. Is it too late to do them now,

Thanks Dave,  we did remove the conifer last year and it did better than before. Its just long and leggy through trying to get some light. I will give it a light prune after flowering. I will leave the rose until spring.

Should I prune my standard rose Golden Wedding, its been in the ground for about 4 months and has had lots of roses on it and is in flower at the moment.  Also when do I prune a Camellia as its out of shape  because it used to be hidden behind a conifer and  has done its best to grow towards the light, its full of buds at the moment, is it next spring when I can prune it and  how much, is it the same principle as for other bushes.
