Thanks guys. I think I'll just wait and see. Perhaps Mr Mole was just passing through, if not I'll try and learn to live with him and adapt my garden to fit in with him

Thanks obelisk. My mum had a problem many years ago and I seem to recall that she tried all sorts of weird and wonderfully cures including mothballs tea bags soaked in teatree oil etc. In the end she dug up the lawn and laid gravel!!!
