I 've got one of those zappers- somewhere- in a secret place

Does this mean you are going to shell out for a snail vine?

Leave it for at least 6 months to rot down before digging it in-cover it with a tarpaulin or something to keep the dog away and deter the flies

Digging it in now is going to causes all sorts of problems

I have seen blackbirds eat ants in the lawn, and wonder if ant treatments do them any harm

Yes Lynredshaw; I too worry about that, having watched a Robin yesterday hopping around the lawn.

A new member to the site; as with most gardeners, all very friendly people!

mmm-good questions-my feeling is that a bird is going to have to find a poisioned ant-then eat hundreds- if not more-  to feel any ill effect- if at all -so I wouldn't worry.

I have been bitten too-I now possess a third nipple-sting relief is the only thing that works

Spent a happy few minutes deleting e-mails

The foreacast seems to be on constant change -the men said it would be a wet week but the sun is beating down

Any ideas why this is called a snail vine?

Saw massive slugs on lawn this morning creeping back home after a night on the tiles

Becks-does the milkman whistle, rattle crates and be called Ernie?
