8th May today-have just seen the forecast it is supposed to become warmer and drier after Friday-you could risk it but it might still be a bit chilly at night

Personally -I would wait for a couple of weeks-why not pot them on in the meantime into bigger pots-if it does get cold you can protect them, if they are in pots- in the ground it is going to make it more tricky.

I have cut the grass along with another job-got home, sowed lettuce, runner beans in pots, collected 20 snails and dumped them in the bin at the end of the road.

Happy days

Will plant out the rest of the dahlias this afternoon

spindly cosmos seedlings

You will need to get them outside to harden them off and give them better all round light.

What you can do is, when you prick them out-bury the seedlings a bit deeper

It is basically caused them being too warm and in low light conditions-this should help

worms eating my beans??

Mange-tout and broad beans are hardier veg.

French beans need warmth and moisture to germinate and grow properly-if they don't get it the beans will just rot way -the worms you saw are just feeding on decayed matter like they do in a compost bin.

I live in the South of the country-my beans will be sown at the end of the month-not before-you sowed at Easter- it was not warm enough.
