Heather life span

Posted: 13/05/2015 at 20:32

Hello again all.

Please see attached pic that I posted last year. The heather is looking a bit worse for wear in comparison to this pic, was wondering if they have a relatively short life span? They have been planted for 6 or 7 years.

I was going to dig the up and replant something else. Are they deep rooted?

More help please

One smells of mint and another of lemon.

Do I just pull the leaves from the stem, or cut the stem to base?

More help please

This is blooming nicely, but there is a few pigeons arrived over the last few weeks and they are now eating the flowers

Is there anything i can do to deter them?

I will post another few pics later in the week for you all to see the progress

Here is pic No8, this is of the small area at the front of the house.

As previous posts if you could advice what to trim/when etc. for example i dont want the larger ones to get any bigger as this willblock our view.

On the last picture - what are the stems like?

Hi Rosa,

Here is a closer look at the stems. If the pic doesn't show them up well they seem to be healthy and strong.
