Ooooooo it's a GW chillie fiesta!!!! Glad most of ur chillies are growing...( grrrr just typed out replies to questions and lost the text!!!) clari glad u have ur propogator sorted. Chillies are tough and don't like much water ( always wait for full grown plants to wilt slightly b4 watering) and lmao at ur chilly willy seeds. Orchid don't be daft sometimes they just don't want to grow!!!! Don't be in a hurry to pot up 3/4 true leaves is perfect otherwise they don't like being handled!!edd 3 c leaves is odd but get go with it maybe a new strain!!!! As for square pots they will grow in round lol just not as well!!! Do ur own trial some in square pots u have others in round... I usually wait and plant my seedings in their final pots... Right lo out the bath so will post pics of my chillies later

Evening all that is a fab recepie I use it all the time!!! My pig cake was a custard cake Delish. I went for my lunch time walk round the trading estate at lunch and I am pleased to report the ravage iris ( that brought me to GW forum) has survived where I replanted it . Ok it was more of a shove it back into the hole they dug up but hey

The rouge law mower was around and shaved a few leaves off but there is a majestic flower spike waiting to burst. My little off cuts do not have a flower spike but are looking healthy. I'm hoping it's just a "don't flower in the 1st year!!!" Thing

Looney with my seeds on window ledges I always put them in sealable freezer bags Until they sprout.. This a. Keeps water off the ledges b. maintains tempratures c. Maintains moisture levels... Only until they sprout then I take them out .....

Morning all.... Wow what a frost thank heavens I remembered to bring my naga morich chilli in!!!!! Verd I have marmalade echinecea shooting and southern belle and anotger couple as well but seeing as lo has been doing her " gardens are for plants not labels" I have no idea which ones. My big surprise was a echinecea I bought from outside a guys house last year in devon for .75p I think it's a purpurea had a load of laces on it. I see where it gets it's name now!!!! Problem is nowhere to put it lol.... I'm sure I will squeeze it in somewhere!!!! Does anyone one with buckland astrantia find it sprouts later or is mine dead? Boss just rolled his eyes and said " ur talking plants again I can see that sophoiphic look on ur face" I'm in shock he knows such a big word ( the tv programme life on mars is like being in my office!!) better go laters peeps enjoy the day x

Bed with varying light conditions - how to use shaded area

Posted: 23/03/2014 at 18:57

My gooseberries were in the woods and grew very well... Slower but bigger fruits... Beetroot also grows well in shade as do pumpkins and courgettes. I grew all of these In my raised beds which are in the wooded part of my garden with great success... We also grew asparagus that did well
