peony

Posted: 13/07/2014 at 09:51

Rose mummy I have a peony in a crowded bed surrounded by geraniums as well, it has flowered repeatedly. Last year I cut it down far too early and panicked it wouldn't give me flowers this year. It did give me 3 stunners.... Not as many as last year but lesson learnt!! Peony are actually quite tough plants but you do need to support them. Buy yourself an excellent plant support to give it a chance next year. When the shoots appear next year feed it and love it lol. My peony is also in a shaded border and does do well !

HELLO FORKERS!

Morning all drizzly here ( perfect for hampton!!!!) chicky you asked what I thought of the gardens and to be honest most left me cold this year!!! It was all very style over substance..... I did love the Jordan's garden and bizarrely the wrath garden o thought the planting was amazing. I loved the Canadian window garden in the conceptual area  I believe she only had £7000 to build it with and despite disliking it on the tv loved the one show garden!!! But here's my gripe they have been banging on about getting more kids interested in gardening and how we have to encourage the children ..... but a. Not one garden showed a garden shared with children!!! Plus there is nothing at all ( apart from a small tent at the other end of the show offering face painting) for children to do at these shows. The crowds are so horrendous I wouldn't take my lo..... Last year there was a carnival atmosphere this year it felt like ££££££ was the focus..... My friend reckons that I should combine a load of you on here to join me and design and do a garden
