Hi Pansy unfortunately not, they were smaller and more finch like with a white blaze/cap across their heads, just wished I had my phone with me at the time....

Whilst filling up our office bird feeder yesterday, 2 small birds appeared with white caps on their heads. About the size of grey tits, their bodies were silver grey and white and very slim. I have looked through the RSPB website lists of UK birds and cannot find a match. Just wondered if anyone has an idea what they are?

I have a large bed of variegated ones that have been in for around 3 years and look great as the leaves give interest when the flowers have finished.

Another Gardeners World Live purchase where I have lost the labelling. I can remember the stall holder saying it is a large evergreen shrub and the purple flower will appear until late summer. If someone could help identify I would be grateful

I purchased this at Gardeners World Live and have mislaid the label could anyone tell me anything about it. I remember the stall holder telling me it was a member of the Hosta family. The flower is slowly breaking out and seems to open slowly as the main leaf is losing colour..
