I have purchased loads of plants and garden stuff from supermarkets. Not all bad. You can see what you are buying. Its your choice.

I suppose an average gardener has a basic knowledge of somethings. Not sure they would enter the organic/non organic idea. Would gain plant food and pesticide knowledge from the back of the packet. Most people who contribute to this forum do not fall into this category.

That is not entirely true. In theory anyone who does anything in a garden is a gardener. Someone who is not a gardener never does anything in a garden.

OH Once planted up a container with lobelia in February. Looked nice, and he was proud of it. Didn't have the heart to point out the mistake! Should be encouraged at all costs. Everyone had 'no idea' once

Morning all. Cold here too. Been to get papers and hang washing out. Quick to get back in! Need to sow more seeds. Difficult as I can't imagine it being warm and sunny enough to put anything in garden. Got some broadbean plants growing in my coldframe. May put them in garden. What do you think? Good idea?? Was going to have some breakfast but someone has put program on tv about a 42stone mum. Put me right off

Morning all. Nice and sunny here but rather chilly. Will sow some more seeds today. Had a mass seed sorting last night. Got free plastic storage boxes from deli counter at saltmines. Sorted veg and flowers seperatly. Have got an extensive collection. =)
