Identifying plants

I was given this plant but it has no label and the donor has no idea what it is. Please can you help me to identify it? It has beautiful purple flowers and large light green leaves.

Thank you.

Strawberry Tree

Thanks for your help. I will accept it as a non fruiting variety. I don't think I still have the papers that came with the tree. As for digging it up I couldn't bear it unless it was diseased or causing damage. I shall just enjoy the flowers and the questioning looks from people when I tell them I have a Strawberry Tree.

I have an Arbutus Unedo ,strawberry tree, in my garden but it has never fruited in the 20 years I have had it. Is it self fertile or should I get another to get fruit?

Unusual Cowslip seeding

Thanks for your reply. I think they are hose-in -hose. How wonderful. I found some seedlings in the grass by them so have dug them up and potted them up. I will see how they go. The main plants are 2 big clumps, can I split them later on?I will try and collect seed as well.

Unusual Cowslip seeding

I have many cowslips in my garden but 2 plants have double flowers. A second cup is growing from the first cup. They are a lovely deep yellow in colour. I have never seen double cowslips before, are they common?
