Talkback: How to take lavender cuttings

I have been pulling out a vine that has been growing like a weed very high in a shady part of the garden. It has downy reddish-brown woody stems, similar to a kiwi fruit in appearance/texture. The leaves are green and oval, a couple of inches long. Can anyone identify this for me?

Talkback: How to sow seeds indoors

I sowed some seeds indoors but unfortunately was called away on a family emergency. Some have germinated with very elongated seedlings. Are they still usable if I prick them out and plant them deeply so just the seed leaves are above the compost?
