Dying Wroms

Posted: 02/06/2012 at 13:30

I have had a wormer for over two years with ups and downs but now the grim reaper seems to have killed 90% of them. The heatwave we had seems to have accelerated the process of the wast so it all went into a much. Tried to sort that out with some paper but realised it wasn't healping so I empited the whole thing including the sump which had turned into a mudbath. Leaft some in the bottom container and threw the rest in the new scraps I had thinking that the ones in the bottom would leave now it was nicer upstaris. Instaid most of them seems to have died and the wormtea is full of dead worms at least they seem dead. Any idea what went wrong after I emptied it. Is the hand full of worms still alive enought to repopulate it or am i better of to start anew. Had quite a big population before this disaster.

The Swedes was up in arms other this and claimed this would be the death knell to the bumble bee population in Sk??ne. Hopefully that was just scaremongery. I do hope it will work. They are such sweet little insects.

It was in the ground and had survived the last two winters. Just shows that constant rain is worse than bitterly cold weather.

removing flowers from helebore

I tend to leave the flowers in mine because I like the way they fade. The double one seems to be sterile but the single one is setting seeds this year.

I thought they were quite hardy plants but it seems lik of the three that I planted last year, only one seems to have made it through the monsson season. It seems also to have killed my asiatic lilly too.

What are these two plants

I think you are right Figrat. Checked a similar plant on my way to work and if you crush the stem it smells garlicy. Is this plant invasive or is that the wild garlic?
