New garden new start... Fingers crossed

Posted: 26/09/2014 at 08:44
Well remembered! How sweet! Today is the move and as I write I'm sat in the garden waiting for the OH to bring the van and I'm taking the opportunity to get all sentimental and say good bye to the house and garden.

Will update as soon as we are settled because for the next few days we will be busy little bees!

Weeds - best suggestions new garden

Glyphosphate maybe? Found it killed off all my weeds, then it can be covered with a good quality fabric. Other than that it's just hand weeding as much as you can, you'll still have weeds when you have an established garden.

What weeds do you have if you know?

Wish list for seed and plant swap

I've got a big glass jar now Lynne. It'll be living in the window and it's got a nice big hole in it too. No terraniwotsit just yet. Need to go to ikea after the move! So it is small sedums I'm looking for. Or cactus seeds. No rush though.

My yellow sweetpeas changed colour eventually. Some were white some went a peachy pink colour. I didn't manage to save any seeds as they didn't cope so well in a pot!

Any type is fine! Mainly because I don't know of any specific types! And thank you

I have some echinacea, and I will have some sweet peas, that sort of appeared in my garden this year for some unknown reason, I didn't plant them! But the bees liked them! I think I have some black petunia seeds ready, along with some dahlias coming along, they aren't fancy, but bee friendly it seemed as there's always one in them, they sort of look like raspberry ripple in colour!

I guess at this moment, on my wish list are sedum cuttings, I posted earlier in the week how I wanted to set up a terrium or however you blimmin spell it, not found one but I did find a large glass dome which will do the job nicely. I'm not sure how you'd post cuttings though!

Succulents & Sedums

my local garden centre are selling them off cheaply currently. I imagine you could take several cuttings from one plant.

I hope there's some left by the weekend as Ive got myself a large jar I'd like to grow a couple in.

such a divide of opinions! I think they're lovely, and as I said, i'd like plenty of unusual containers for my garden, is it fairygirl who has tin baths?? A chap grows his carrots i baths at the allotment

It's not a large one, and we could collect it in the car as it's only around the corner
