My callicarpa was absolutely covered in berries this year, unfortunately within 2 weeks the blackbirds had scoffed them all!

Ryan, they're ripe when the "hairs" coming out of the top turn brown.

Is it one of the bottom leaves, Jimbolena? If so, it's quite natural, they do die off after a while but new ones should come out of the middle.
