Thank you for that link, obelixx! I'm going to try spring onions for the first time this year, so lots of good info there to help me along.

This is our Inka, rescued last year from a dog shelter in Hungary, she is the most loving dog anyone could wish for!

Hi Moresthemerrier, Macbook shouldn't be a problem. Photo should be in your Finder, if it's too big, open it in Preview and change size in Tools, then save back to Finder (Desktop). Then open tree icon at the top of your reply post and drag/drop it from Desktop as instructed.

That soil looks very soggy, have they got enough drainage? They could be too wet.

catnip

I grow mine on the edge of my borders. When the flowers start to go tatty in midsummer, cut them back by half and they will come back with another show of flowers. Cut back again in late autumn and they will sprout new shoots around now, when you can cut off any dry stems. They have survived -10°C with no problems here.

Strangly, our cat shows no interest in them at all!

Memory Lane Rose

This place sells them as cut roses 50cm long, you should be able to make cuttings from them, only problem is that they sell them in bunches of 20!
